Abstract
Chitosan cross-linked membranes were synthesized by applying chitosan particles into acetic acid and various organic acid solution. The degree of deacetylation and average molecular weight of the chitosan were determined to be 95% and 70,000, respectively. The chitosan solution was casted a certain thickness using doctor blade apparatus to make several kinds of membranes. Then the membranes were treated with glutaric dialdehyde which was cross-linking agent. This work was carried out to evaluate the removal ability of harmful heavy metals in food system using the chitosan-complexed membrane and property of permeate flux were determined in the continuous recycled reactor system. Removal effects of heavy metal by chitosan membrane were analyzed by FT-IR, ICP and SEM microscopy.
